搞错了吧。问了三个英语高手都没听过这么拼写句子，也没听过这么翻译。是句谚语么？是不是很不常用的谚语？那为何拿来？

有一种台球游戏叫“八号球戏”：玩球的人要设法先将其他编号的球都打进袋子里，最后才把八号球打进去。如果还有别的球没有进袋而玩球的人却不小心把八号球打了进去，那他就输了。这样，谁要是能把主球藏在八号球后面，他的对手可就落入困难的境地：八号球挡住了主球，使他无法打其他的球。
　　因此，如果你要的东西藏在八号球后面，你的处境就很糟糕，简直没法逃脱，困难重重。

谢谢你的解释。原来是台球中传说中的黑八，这个我打过。不过这种语义看来还是应用不多，问过一个美国老外，问过一个外语研究出版社的总编（他提出这个the eight不是八个，也不是第八，没见过这种用法），问过一个英语老师，都没听过这种提法。建议列一些常用的，而不是生僻的。多谢！我会一直支持下去！
